What is the Intellectual property?

Intellectual property refers to the special “rights” that inventors, authors, and artists enjoy in their ideas and inventions or their writings and works of art. The law of intellectual property is the sets of statutes, regulations, and judge-made law that that has gradually developed to define those rights and the legal protection they receive.

Intellectual property law is generally divided into three primary areas: Patents protect ideas in invention, Copyrights protect works of art and authorship, and Trademark protect brand names and logos.
